Building off of last year’s Rutgers NCPA Blood Pressure and Blood Glucose Monitoring Workshop, Patient Care decided to adjust the event to a virtual setting by focusing on patient counseling. Faculty adviser, Dr. Lucio Volino, and his APPE students, Alita and Jade, conducted a virtual, interactive presentation in which pharmacy students were taught basics of blood pressure and blood glucose management, how to listen to a sphygmomanometer, and proper counseling etiquette. The event concluded with breakout rooms in which students were able to practice answering patient cases that were led by Patient Care. Committee members were facilitated by Dr. Volino and his APPE students. A total of 20 students attended.
