Legislative Affairs Coordinators, Anisha Bhattacharya and Shaantala Shenoy, collaborated with Rutgers Phi Lambda Sigma to raise awareness on healthcare policy. The coordinators hoped to walk students through the process of how policies relating to pharmacy are made and how a student studying healthcare can directly impact these legislations. After this event, we wanted students to have more of a say in the policies that affect us and our practice. NJ state senator Vin Gopal, co-chair of the senate health committee, and assemblyman Herb Conaway, chair of the assembly health committee, were able to join us and answer questions from our event facilitators along with a Q&A session following the event. The event was a success and had 55 students in attendance.
