NCPA Speed Dating
|
To continue building our presence following a strong start to the semester, our social committee chairs, Anna Wszeborowska and Calvin Chao, worked closely with the social committee members to put together an open Speed Dating event. Participants engaged in a series of icebreaker questions in randomized breakout rooms and were swapped every 15 minutes to get the opportunity to meet new individuals. At the end of the session, participants were invited to stay for one last trivia style game hosted on Kahoot to compete for a cash prize of $10. This incentivized active participation amongst the 16 participants reached and participants were very receptive to this new structure.

To kick off the start of the Leadership Develop Program (LDP), our Professional Affairs LDP Committee Coordinators, Joyce Kong and Hannah Mei, hosted a debrief session with our new cohort of 15 LDP Mentees as well as their respective committee chair mentors. Expectations of the program were discussed as well as the upcoming event timeline for the Fall semester. Breakout rooms facilitated streamlined communication between mentees and mentors and the night was closed out with ice breaker activities to get everyone more comfortable and familiar.

Deciphering the Flu
|
This event was a collaboration with APhA Operation Immunizations and PDC Flu Clinic. We created an interactive and informative presentation regarding Flu and COVID (what causes it to spread, how to prevent it, further research etc.). At the very end, we opened the floor to questions and directed all the clinically driven questions to Dr. Fahim, who was precepting our event.

Deciphering the Flu vs COVID-19: High School Students |
More than 200 people attended this event put together by the Patient Care committee, who presented in 3 different half hour sessions for students at Passaic County Vocational School District. As the spread of coronavirus remains prevalent and flu season approaches, it is important to make students aware of the current situation around them and what is currently being done (and what they can do) to help manage the issue; this presentation allowed students to ask questions and expand their understanding on these two major issues.
