This four part webinar series was an initiative led by Rutgers NCPA, IPhO, SNPhA, and NJSHP. The goal of the series was to educate the public on COVID-19 and the role of pharmacists in the pandemic as well as to advocate for the profession of pharmacy, including but not limited to the following settings: community/independent, hospital, and industry.
Professional Affairs Event Planning Coordinators, Anthony Wong and Rachel Ou, led the first part of the series by recruiting Dr. Brian Oliveira (Executive Director for Garden State Pharmacy Owners Inc.) Dr. Oliveira discussed why he chose to pursue independent pharmacy, how COVID-19 has impacted his pharmacy, and the plans he made in order to keep both the pharmacy staff and the community safe as well as how these decisions have impacted community outreach.
Website Development Coordinator, Vileen Singh, served as Webinar Visual Director, and spearheaded the development of the Solving the Pandemic Puzzle Webinar website. Vileen led the team of PR and Webmasters from all four organizations to create a website that provided background on each part of the series, information on each organization and their mission, and supplemental COVID-19 infographics.
